This speculative affordable single family development sought to increase density in central Tucson. Outdoor rooms were designed in response to the Sonoran Desert’s unique climate and culture. Site orientation maximizes private outdoor spaces and gives access to mountain views. Highly insulated, post tensioned masonry block construction was specified as an alternative to the industry standard wood framing and stucco.
