third street 2 renovation
Tucson, AZ, completed 2007
This historic house in central Tucson was updated while maintaining the original footprint. The kitchen had been located at the back of the house with no connection to the primary indoor and outdoor living spaces. We swapped the kitchen with a bedroom located at the front of the house and removed a wall to connect to the dining/ living room and added a door (into an existing window opening) that connects to a new patio and overlooks the front entry. The existing wood floors and plaster adobe walls were preserved. The function and feel of the house was radically transformed while maintaining the fundamental integrity of the historic house.

Custom kitchen cabinets and integral stainless steel sink/ counter top were fabricated to align with existing walls and windows.
